On Friday, Arkansas City faced Andover in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Arkansas City Bulldogs had to suffer through a 69-41 loss at the hands of the Andover Trojans. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Arkansas City lost, don't look at Saliyah Henderson-Johnson. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Kierslynn Waggoner was another key player, putting up nine points.

Andover found their leader in sophomore Bella Bouddhara, who went 8 of 18 on her way to 23 points along with five assists and four steals. The game was Bouddhara's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Asiah Sullivan also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Arkansas City fell to 7-1. As for Andover, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Arkansas City has already played their next matchup (against Newton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Andover will take on Junction City in a tournament on Thursday.
