Baseball Recap: Port St. Lucie Comes Up Short

Port St. Lucie came into this matchup off a tough 13-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Centennial Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Jaguars in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Port St. Lucie's loss dropped their record down to 1-10-1. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Port St. Lucie will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South Fork at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. After both having extra time off, Centennial and Tradition Prep will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th. Centennial's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Tradition Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
