Basketball Game Preview: Patrick Henry Academy Patriots vs. Hilton Head Prep Dolphins

The Patrick Henry Academy Patriots will face off against the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Patrick Henry Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Colleton Prep Academy and fell 40-38.

Despite their defeat, Patrick Henry Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Laney Futch, who posted four points in addition to 16 rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Futch is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Lucas, who had 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Even though they lost, Patrick Henry Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Hilton Head Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 47-40 to Cross.

Hilton Head Prep's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for Patrick Henry Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
