Basketball Recap: San Juan Snaps 12-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

San Juan won the last time they faced Bayfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. The San Juan Broncos strolled past the Bayfield Wolverines with points to spare, taking the game 61-47.

San Juan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaiten Knight, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Knight a new career-high in rebounds. Tripp Palmer was another key player, going 7 of 17 on his way to 18 points and six boards.

San Juan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bayfield only pulled down five offensive boards.

Despite the loss, Bayfield still got an impressive performance from Kingston Martinez, who went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Queen, who posted six points and six boards.

San Juan's win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-8. As for Bayfield, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4.

San Juan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-64 victory against Grand County on the 17th. As for Bayfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-44 win against Alamosa on the 17th.
