Carter Jaeger Earns League's Top Spot

Starting off the list is Sterling's Carter Jaeger, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Jaeger made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. We rated that as his best effort of the season, edging out his previous best set last Friday.

The win was the fourth in a row for Sterling, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Jaeger and Sterling will square off against Arvada at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Marcello Rossi Delivers Electric Effort Vs Arvada

Marcello Rossi's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his third-straight game with 126+ rushing yards. He rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.

Arvada had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Rossi it was a similar story. Rossi rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 66 receiving yards the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in October of 2023.

A Season-Best Effort from Jacob Arzberger Leads the Academy over Fort Lupton

On Saturday, The Academy got the W thanks in part to Jacob Arzberger playing the best football he has all season. Arzberger rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.

The win got The Academy back to even at 3-3. Arzberger and The Academy will venture away from home to challenge Weld Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jace Cornelius Makes It Two for Weld Central

Another Weld Central player making an appearance on this list is Jace Cornelius. He threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown.

For the year, Cornelius has thrown those 3 touchdowns while averaging 56.4 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after five games last season, he had one rushing touchdown. This year he is already up to five.
