Basketball Game Preview: Bluefield Beavers vs. Princeton Tigers

The Bluefield Beavers are taking a road trip to challenge the Princeton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bluefield is looking for their season's first win.

Last Friday, Bluefield came up short against Wyoming East and fell 66-55. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Warriors are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Princeton). They walked away with an 80-73 victory over PikeView on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Princeton's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Bluefield, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-7.

Bluefield couldn't quite finish off Princeton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 63-61. Can Bluefield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
