Soccer Game Preview: Gainesville vs. Celina

The Gainesville Leopards will square off against the Celina Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Gainesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.

Gainesville gave up the first goal last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They beat Aubrey by a goal, winning 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Leopards as they're now sitting on three straight.

Erick Ramirez was the driving force of Gainesville's attack as he scored both of Gainesville's goals, bringing his season total up to five goals.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Celina's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They and Farmersville finished up their game with a 3-3 draw. The result kept the Bobcats happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 3rd.

With that draw, Celina's record moves to 7-1-2. As for Gainesville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1.

Gainesville came out on top in a nail-biter against Celina when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gainesville since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
