Baseball Recap: Royal Palm Beach Takes a Loss

Royal Palm Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 8-3 to the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Santino Spidalieri and Robert Gonzalez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Spidalieri went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double, while Gonzalez scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Royal Palm Beach's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Royal Palm Beach will face off against Wellington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they will venture away from home to face off against Jupiter Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
