Baseball Game Preview: Hanks Knights vs. Del Valle Conquistadores

For the second straight game, Hanks will face off against Del Valle. The Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Conquistadores at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Monday just wasn't the day for Hanks' offense. They lost 6-0 to Del Valle on Monday. The shutout was out of character for the Knights seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

For Del Valle's part, not much got past ISAIAH GONZALEZ, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Hanks off the board. GONZALEZ has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on DIEGO VILLALOBOS, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was EDGAR VASQUEZ, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Del Valle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Hanks, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-14 record.
