Softball Game Preview: Camden Blue Devils vs. Whitesboro Warriors

The Camden Blue Devils will face off against the Whitesboro Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Camden's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

New Hartford hit Camden with a four-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils lost 9-2 to the Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Devils have suffered against the Spartans since April 10, 2017.

Meanwhile, Whitesboro came up short against New Hartford on Monday and fell 5-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

Addison Cook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

Camden's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Whitesboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Camden came out on top in a nail-biter against Whitesboro in their previous matchup last Saturday, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
