Baseball Recap: Grainger Takes a Loss

If Grainger was feeling good fresh off their 8-2 takedown of West Greene two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grizzlies lost 11-4 to the Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their meetings with the Fighting Cyclones: they've now lost five in a row.

Grainger saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carver Turley, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Grainger's defeat dropped their record down to 14-18. As for Elizabethton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Grainger nor Elizabethton have any future games scheduled.
