Baseball Recap: Snyder Takes a Loss

Snyder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 20-8 to the Merritt Oilers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cyclones of the 22-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Tony Balderas led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing three bases. Another player making a difference was Cooper Payne, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Snyder's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Merritt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7-1.

Looking ahead, Snyder will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View-Gotebo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Merritt, they will host Sentinel at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
