            Softball Recap: Gray Stone Day Knights vs. Albemarle Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            Gray Stone Day can  bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game  on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Albemarle Bulldogs as they made off with  an  18-3 win. With that  victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.9  runs per game.
 Helen Klauder made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   two  hits. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  strikeouts (four). She was even better at the plate,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.

 In other batting news,  London Gray was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five  RBI, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. Those  three  hits gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lindsey Stirewalt, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
 Gray Stone Day  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .767. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Gray Stone Day's  win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Albemarle,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-9.
 Looking ahead, Albemarle will venture away from home to  take on South Stanly  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Gray Stone Day will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs'  contest: after the Bulldogs faces off against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls, they'll take on Gray Stone Day again  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
