Recap: Coastal Christian Centurions vs. Liberty Christian Academy Heat
The Coastal Christian Centurions had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Liberty Christian Academy with a sharp 64-42 win. The result was nothing new for Coastal Christian, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Coastal Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Holden Martin led the charge by scoring 11 points. Aidan Davies was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Liberty Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Drake Davidson, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. That's the first time this season that Davidson pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Bachmann, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Coastal Christian pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-6 record last season and are now at 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coastal Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Westchester Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Epiphany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
