Basketball Recap: Universal Academy vs. BigTyme Prep Academy Bears
Universal Academy lost against the BigTyme Prep Academy Bears two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Universal Academy was beaten by the Bears 65-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Universal Academy has scored all season.
Universal Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cyrus Shaw, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamran Reese, who scored nine points.
BigTyme Prep Academy was led to victory by Noah Dowling and Mayen Ayuel. Dowling scored 21 points, while Ayuel scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dowling has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jeff Bogg, who scored seven points.
Universal Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8. As for BigTyme Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing R.W. Goines Stem Academy the next time they take the court. Universal Academy will head out to face the at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bears will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
