Softball Recap: Caledonia-Mumford Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Caledonia-Mumford had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Perry Yellowjackets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-6 on Tuesday.

Shea Drazkowski was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Brianna Lynn was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Caledonia-Mumford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Caledonia-Mumford pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Perry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caledonia-Mumford will venture away from home to challenge Pavilion at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Perry, they will head out to square off against Le Roy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Oatkan Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
