Recap: Roosevelt Mustangs vs. Pinkston Vikings

The Roosevelt Mustangs suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 56-23 loss at the hands of Pinkston. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Roosevelt has suffered against Pinkston since February 2, 2021.

Among those leading the charge was Cenaya Calhoun- jingles, who almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, ten assists, and nine steals. She hasn't dropped below 15points for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyrick Donaldson, who scored no points along with 13 rebounds and seven steals.

Roosevelt has been struggling recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Pinkston, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-21.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt on the road again on Friday and play against Wilmer-Hutchins at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Pinkston, they will square off against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
