The Franklin Admirals will venture away from home to challenge the Fairview Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Franklin will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Centennial, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Admirals came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 9-6 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Admirals as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Olivia Melinchar was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Journey Josselyn also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Meanwhile, Fairview waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against the Indians. With that victory, the Yellowjackets brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Maddie McGowan made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits. McGowan was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Cameryn Dunn and Abbie Hammon did most of the damage at the plate: Dunn scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Hammon went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Dunn has posted since back in March. Allie Penning was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Fairview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harpeth only posted an OBP of .294.

Fairview's record is now 5-8. As for Franklin, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-17-1.

Franklin took their victory against Fairview in their previous meeting back in March of 2018 by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Admirals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
