Softball Recap: Walkertown Extends Winning Streak to Five

Walkertown put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Glenn Bobcats by a score of 8-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 last Wednesday.

Macy Miller made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Miller wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Graves, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was Graves' first of the season.

Walkertown's record is now 5-0. As for Glenn, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Walkertown will challenge West Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Glenn, they will face off against Reagan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenn's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Reagan's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
