Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Christian Crusaders vs. Pomeroy Pirates

The Riverside Christian Crusaders will venture away from home to take on the Pomeroy Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Thursday, Riverside Christian came up short against Garfield-Palouse and fell 58-47.

Haydn Edwards put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, Pomeroy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 46-40 to Sunnyside Christian.

Riverside Christian will need to focus on slowing down Jacob Reisinger, one of several Pomeroy players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 for 12 to rack up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Slusser, who put up 12 points and five boards.

Riverside Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Pomeroy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
