Softball Recap: Mt. Hope Wins Going Away Against Middletown

After losing to Middletown the last time they met, Mt. Hope decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Huskies blew past the Islanders 15-8 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

The team relied heavily on Hailey Ferriera, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Emily Moran was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.

Mt. Hope was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mt. Hope's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Middletown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Coming up, Mt. Hope is taking a road trip to challenge Burrillville at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Middletown, they will be playing at home against Mount Pleasant at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
