Basketball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

If Riverdale was riding high fresh off their 65-39 takedown of Boscobel last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Riverdale Chieftains had to suffer through a 78-40 loss at the hands of the Mineral Point Pointers. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Pointers are ranked 13th).

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mineral Point, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

While Riverdale had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
