Basketball Game Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Benson Tech Astros

Roosevelt is 0-10 against Benson Tech since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Roosevelt Roughriders will challenge the Benson Tech Astros at 6:30 p.m.

Roosevelt lost 71-46 to Lincoln on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Benson Tech faced Mountainside in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Benson Tech came out on top against Mountainside by a score of 58-50. The win was familiar territory for the Astros who have now won five games in a row.

Benson Tech has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Roosevelt was taken down by Benson Tech 88-18 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Roosevelt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
