Adding to the longest winning streak in IV Southern (8 Man) this week, Pahranagat Valley beat Tonopah 72-12. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Panthers.

The Muckers lost to Pahranagat Valley 72-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Ken Higbee's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tabor Maxwell threw for 153 and 4 touchdowns and Wade Leavitt had 88 yards receiving. On the ground Leavitt chipped in 190 yards. Jeremy Minick helped Pahranagat Valley's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 55 yards.

Minick was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Panthers bested Tonopah. The 5-foot-7 junior pulled down 3 interceptions.

He went 13-21 with 0 interceptions.

Joshua Banasiak was a passing and rushing force as Spring Mountain beat Beatty. He completed 7 passes for 152 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 38 yards. Banasiak's key target this week was David Otuafi, who caught 2 passes for 70 yards.

Leavitt was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 190 yards on 15 carries as Pahranagat Valley defeated Duffy Otteson's team. Caleb Hansen also contributed to the rushing game with 45 yards on the ground.

The Panthers' Maxwell and Leavitt led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-9 quarterback Maxwell has thrown for 1,870 yards this season, while Leavitt has 34 catches for 637 yards. Matt Misnier from the Muckers leads the league in rushing with 1,168 yards.

The marquee game in IV Southern (8 Man) this week will be the clash between the Eagles and Indian Springs. Spring Mountain enters the contest ranked third in the state, while the Thunderbirds ranks ninth.

Leavitt of the Pahranagat Valley is only 71 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 96 carries Leavitt has accumulated 929 yard this year.

The Panthers' Maxwell is within 130 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Muckers.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Pahranagat Valley and Tonopah face off next week.

The Panthers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 72 points on the Muckers. Maxwell ran for 33 yards in the win.
