Baseball Recap: Linton-Stockton Miners vs. Eastern Greene Thunderbirds
Linton-Stockton lost a close one when they played last Monday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They fell victim to a rough 13-7 defeat at the hands of the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds. Linton-Stockton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eastern Greene apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Jackson Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and a stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamison Fields, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
On Eastern Greene's side, Kasen Cullison was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and a triple. Jacob Bellman was another key contributor, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Linton-Stockton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Eastern Greene, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Linton-Stockton will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against North Central at 5:00 p.m. As for Eastern Greene, they will head out on the road to square off against South Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Greene is facing South Knox at the right time seeing as South Knox is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
