Basketball Game Preview: McLouth Bulldogs vs. Council Grove Braves

The McLouth Bulldogs will face off against the Council Grove Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McLouth is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, McLouth lost to Oskaloosa on the road by a 58-42 margin.

Meanwhile, Council Grove played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 79-44 defeat at the hands of Rock Creek. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-21.

McLouth will need focus on slowing down Finn Gant, one of several Council Grove players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Gant is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Kepley, who went 5 for 6 en route to 14 points.

Council Grove has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season. As for McLouth, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
