Football Recap: Burbank Comes Up Short on the Road Against San Dimas

Burbank had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 1-0 to the San Dimas Saints. The Bulldogs lost against the Saints in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-14 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Burbank lost, don't look at Deshawn Laporte. Despite the final result, he threw for 369 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 81 yards on only eight carries. Tyler Hudson was Laporte's top target, picking up 118 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 48 yards.

The critical scores for San Dimas came from Michael Baeza, Keenan Hoyt, Jacob Gallegos, and Liam Loyola.

Coming up, Burbank will look to defend their home field on Friday against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. As for San Dimas, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Pasadena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 864 yards in their previous games.
