Softball Game Preview: South Williamsport Mountaineers vs. Liberty Hurricanes

The South Williamsport Mountaineers will take on the Liberty Hurricanes at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Liberty will be up against a hot South Williamsport team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Everything went the Mountaineers' way against Jersey Shore on Friday as they made off with an 11-5 victory.

Meanwhile, Liberty hadn't done well against Bethlehem Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Hurricanes never let the Hawks get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Hurricanes, who have now won four games in a row.

South Williamsport pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
