Recap: Maryvale Prep Matador vs. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators
On Thursday, Maryvale Prep was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to North Phoenix Preparatory Academy. Maryvale Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Maryvale Prep saw an underclassman step up: Isaiah Garibay scored 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Garibay scored a full 47.9% of Maryvale Prep's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lamont Green, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Maryvale Prep now has a losing record at 1-2. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
