Two dominant backs in Kino Lorona and Kaleb Porter are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hayden Lobos will be playing at home against the Mogollon Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hayden is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Mohave Accelerated to the tune of 61-12.

Tyler Garner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 297 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards and one TD. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hayden was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 495 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Another reason for the win was Hayden's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Javier Ortega and Mario Hong, who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Mogollon faced Superior in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mustangs blew past the Panthers 72-30. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won six contests in a row.
Mogollon found their leader in sophomore Jett Reidhead, who rushed for 145 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 200 yards and three TDs on only nine passes. Reidhead's longest rush was for an incredible 92 yards. Brody Porter was another key player, rushing for 66 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries.
Hayden's record is now 10-0. As for Mogollon, their record now sits at 8-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Hayden has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 288.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mogollon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 279.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Hayden against Mogollon in their previous matchup back in September, as the squad secured a 74-42 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Porter, who picked up 222 receiving yards and three scores, and also rushed for 133 yards and one TD while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
