Basketball Recap: Ponderosa Takes a Loss

Ponderosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 73-51 to the Douglas County Huskies. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Douglas County was led to victory by Roman Saiz and Gavin Dale. Saiz posted 21 points, while Dale went 7 of 17 to rack up 23 points. The dominant performance gave Saiz a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Shoemaker, who put up eight points.

Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Douglas County, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 6-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ponderosa will host Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Douglas County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Castle View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
