Soccer Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Santa Monica Vikings, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, the Apaches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while the Vikings are ranked 19th).

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Santa Monica, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Centennial will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Inglewood at 4:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Santa Monica will take on Torrance in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Torrance will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Santa Monica surely won't give up without a fight.
