Basketball Recap: Norwell Comes Up Short

Norwell played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 56-34 to the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Braves are ranked 31st).

Bryce Sefton was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian. The dominant performance gave Sefton a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Briggs Pardon, who posted 11 points.

With the defeat, Norwell broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Norwell will take on DeKalb in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-46 victory against Heritage on the 17th.
