Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitesboro). They breezed by the Savoy Cardinals to the tune of 85-30 on Thursday. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Cardinals are ranked 1458th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Whitesboro is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Savoy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitesboro will welcome Pilot Point at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitesboro is facing Pilot Point at the right time seeing as Pilot Point is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Savoy, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Savoy Cardinals face off against the Saint Jo Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
