Baseball Recap: North Stokes' Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The third road contest was the charm for North Stokes, as they earned their first road win of the season. They blew past the Bishop McGuinness Villains 13-3 on Saturday. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 4-0 win the Villains walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2021.

Evan Woods made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cash Dalton, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Michael Frye was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

North Stokes' victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Bishop McGuinness, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Stokes beat Bishop McGuinness by a score of 11-3 later that day.
