Basketball Recap: Madison-Grant Takes a Loss

Madison-Grant was the 62-28 winner over Elwood when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Madison-Grant Argylls took a blow against the Elwood Panthers on Friday, falling 50-19. The Argylls were down 42-10 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Madison-Grant still got an impressive performance from Madalee Holloway, who posted six points.

Elwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendra Sallee, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 boards. Sallee is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Breelyn Norris, who had 17 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Madison-Grant and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Elwood, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-3.

Madison-Grant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-43 win against Eastern on the 17th. As for Elwood, they will welcome Blackford at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th. Elwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
