Basketball Recap: City College Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact City College can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 75-26 loss at the hands of the Poly Engineers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Engineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-16 back in February.

Poly's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from London Elliot, who posted eight points in addition to seven assists and six steals. That's the most assists Elliot has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brianna Pope, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards.

City College's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Poly, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-9.

As of now, neither City College nor Poly have any future games scheduled.
