Basketball Game Preview: St. Margaret's Tartans vs. Desert Christian Academy Conquerors

The St. Margaret's Tartans will venture away from home to square off against the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, St. Margaret's lost to Laguna Beach on the road by a 69-53 margin.

Meanwhile, Desert Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They claimed a resounding 79-45 win over the Lions. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-18.

Desert Christian Academy's win came from a few key players St. Margaret's will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Augustine Youssef, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Herling, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points and six assists.

Desert Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Jacinto Leadership Academy only racked up nine assists.

Desert Christian Academy pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points per game. As for St. Margaret's, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
