Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Eagles vs. Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs
The Calvary Christian Academy Eagles and the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles had to settle for second. They were the victim of a rough 34-9 loss at the hands of the Chiefs. Calvary Christian Academy has not had much luck with Cardinal Gibbons recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Calvary Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Yohan-li Louis and Cecil Stone. Louis gained 161 total yards, while Stone rushed for 19 yards and a touchdown.
Among those leading the charge was Patrick Anderson jr., who rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Anderson jr. was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Michael Merdinger also helped out by tossing the rock for 276 yards.
Calvary Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Calvary Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cardinal Gibbons will head out on the road to face off against American Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. American Heritage is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
