Baseball Recap: Pagosa Springs Comes Up Short

Pagosa Springs lost against Bayfield back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pirates fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 6-5. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cooper Ralston spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pagosa Springs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Pagosa Springs now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Bayfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-10.
