The Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons will take on the Riverdale Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Charlotte is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Port Charlotte on Thursday as they made off with a 19-5 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Dava Hoffer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Hoffer was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Charlotte got a massive performance out of Grace Lewin, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Lewin a new career-high. Haven Hickox was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-5.
Charlotte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Riverdale made easy work of Immokalee on Friday and carried off a 7-1 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Adrianna Manetta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jamie Marie Penia, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ella Bundy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
The victory made it two in a row for Riverdale and bumps their season record up to 10-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Charlotte, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Charlotte hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Riverdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Charlotte came up short against Riverdale in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 7-3. Will the Fightin' Tarpons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
