Basketball Recap: Pahrump Valley Takes a Loss

Pahrump Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Enterprise Wolves, falling 57-23. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Pahrump Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aydon Veloz, who posted five points and seven boards. Those five points gave Veloz a new career-high. Antwahn Jackson was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pahrump Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Leading Enterprise to victory were Treyson Whitman and Roger Cope. Whitman had 14 points and five rebounds, while Cope put up nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Crew Evans, who posted six points and five boards.

Pahrump Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Enterprise, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Pahrump Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-32 win against Pinecrest Academy Cadence on the 28th. As for Enterprise, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-49 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 28th.
