Baseball Game Preview: Castle Park Trojans vs. Kearny Komets

The Castle Park Trojans will head out to face off against the Kearny Komets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Castle Park has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Castle Park came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 21-1 to Ramona.

Meanwhile, Kearny was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Southwest SD, falling 15-7.

DJ Martinez led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Hembera, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Kearny's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Castle Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Everything went Castle Park's way against Kearny when the teams last played back in March of 2022, as Castle Park made off with a 21-1 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Komets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
