Softball Recap: Eastlake Wins Going Away Against Steele Canyon

Eastlake extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Steele Canyon. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 10-1 win. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Addison Suriano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mia Vasquez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Mackenzie Olshenskie was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Eastlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Eastlake pushed their record up to 19-11-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Steele Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-14-1.

As of now, neither Eastlake nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
