Volleyball Game Preview: Springfield Senators vs. Normal University Pioneers

Springfield hasn't had much luck against Normal University recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Senators will face off against the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Springfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Jacksonville 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Senators in their matchups with the Crimsons: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Normal University beat Bloomington 2-0 on Thursday.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Normal University was: they took both sets by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-10.

Normal University's victory bumped their record up to 33-4. As for Springfield, their win bumped their record up to 24-9.

Springfield came up short against Normal University in their previous matchup back in September, falling 2-0. Can the Senators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
