Baseball Recap: Midtown Snags Tenth Win in Last 13 Games

While Midtown put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Drew. The Knights were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Drew. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Haiden Evans looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Midtown let Lyndon Wiilliams and Neil Sevigny run wild. Wiilliams went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Sevigny scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four RBI gave Wiilliams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Beckett Boatright, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.

Midtown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Midtown is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Drew, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Midtown beat Drew by a score of 7-0 later that day.
