Basketball Recap: Daniel Boone Victorious

Daniel Boone came into Wednesday's match having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 53-52 win over the Fleetwood Tigers. This was payback for the Blazers, who suffered a 46-34 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Fleetwood still got an impressive performance from Mason Senna, who went 8 for 12 en route to 25 points and five steals. That was a full 48.1% of Fleetwood's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Ryan, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points.

Daniel Boone's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Fleetwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Daniel Boone will venture away from home to take on Twin Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fleetwood, they will host Hamburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hamburg has three straight wins, Fleetwood has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
