Softball Recap: Halstead Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Halstead and Hoisington, and Hoisington kept the tradition alive. The Dragons fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 4-3 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Friday.

Halstead saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Halstead's loss dropped their record down to 18-2. As for Hoisington, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Coming up, Halstead will welcome Bluestem at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hoisington, they will head out on the road to square off against Smoky Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
