Edison has gone a perfect 10-0 against Sam Houston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Golden Bears will take on the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Edison has seven straight wins, Sam Houston has 38 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Edison was able to grind out a solid victory over Seguin, taking the game 5-2.

Luis Garcia Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Garcia Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Samaad Bunch, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sam Houston lost 17-2 to Brackenridge on Thursday.

Edison pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Sam Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Everything went Edison's way against Sam Houston in their previous matchup back in March, as Edison made off with an 18-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
