Football Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Cypress Creek's offense. They were beaten by the Land O' Lakes Gators 45-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Gators are ranked 21st).

Megan Adams threw for 51 yards on five of 13 attempts. On the ground, Corrina Howell rushed for 41 yards.

Land O' Lakes was led to victory by Sophia Spiegel and Eve Douglas. Spiegel threw for 88 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of her passes, while Douglas picked up 36 receiving yards and one score. What's more, Spiegel racked up 139.3 passer rating, the most she's had since back in February.

Cypress Creek's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Land O' Lakes, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.

Coming up, Cypress Creek will take on Sunlake at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Land O' Lakes, they will face off against Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
